About
I look at You Look at Me represents my belief that art making is a child’s first ‘literacy’ which opens doors to other forms of literacy. A photo was taken of me standing next to a young girl’s painting. The secondary colours featured in the girl’s self-portrait are mirrored in my portrait of me.
The dormancy of winter, where I grew up, is illustrated North Dakota Prairie. Much after-hours time was spent indoors, at home or at school, where jam sessions took place around the piano, and artworks were created.
